i see people talk about wanting to start content creation or their own businesses or change careers ALL THE TIME but the number 1 thing i see alongside it is “i really want to do it but I’m not ready yet”

it’s so crazy to think about how different my life would have looked if i waited until i was ready too… i never would have started this page or done even HALF the things that i am so so proud of myself for! the “right” really never came, I just stopped waiting for it altogether y’know?

choosing to be brave and doing it scared will take you so much further than waiting to be ready, i promise 🤍

you got the job? got into school? got a raise? move out for the first time? literally anything else??

one thing I don’t think creators share about enough (especially in Canada where we have almost 0 consistent monetization programs) is the financial instability of it all

you get a deal, do the work, and then wait 30-90 days to get paid for it, the payment is late 99% of the time, it’s been 3+ months, you’ve made $0

and that type of financial instability has been kicking my ASS you guys.. Which is why getting a job was the right move for me!!!

I also talked to so many other creator friends who said that having a stable income allowed them to be more creative and have fun wit content again because the stakes weren’t as high and they were so so right!! I’ve haven’t felt more creative or driven in years!!

we live in a society that constantly reminds us that we don’t “fit in” in literally any way, shape, or form. our bodies are too big, too small, too curvy, not curvy enough, our hair isn’t the right texture, our teeth aren’t white enough, our skin isn’t glass 100% of the time….. etc etc etc

it’s exhausting! 🫩

when we stop focusing on the physical and start focusing on everything else instead, we start to break that toxic cycle that diet culture, body image standards, and everything in between keeps us trapped in 🤍

sooo… i got a job 🤍 y’all know 2024 marked

sooo… i got a job 🤍

y’all know 2024 marked a major life change for me. so many endings left and right that i didn’t see coming. rebuilding from that place taught me so much… but unfortunately the scar really still remained

i had built this beautiful life that i loved, bought a house with the money i made from my dream career.. but when i started to have some of the slowest years in my career since 2020 i couldn’t help but feel like all the “influencers need to get real jobs” and “just wait until all influencers stop making” money discourse we see online 24/7 was right… and they were also talking EXACTLY about me…

the self doubt and insecurity about my future as a content creator continued to grow no matter how much i was trying to convince myself it wasn’t. i started to believe that needing a job was a failure, that it meant i touched my dreams and i couldn’t sustain it and that meant i could never have it again… i was wrong!!

i’ve been applying to jobs since February (the job market is actually HELL) and have gone through the submitted, ghosted, no interview, try it all again pipeline for weeks

but today i finally got that offer and the first thing i thought of was “i need to tell her”. Her being ME… from March 3rd, feeling at my absolute lowest

I’ve gotten past the feelings of failure and I’ve found feelings of relief and hope instead. I still get to live my life! i still get to live in my home! i still get to create content for the love of it all! i still get to be an influencer! but without the pressure of “where is my next paycheque coming from?”

I hope that if you needed a sign that things get better, this is it 🫶🏽

Thank you to ALL of you for being here, supporting me, and loving me through it all. This obvi isn’t goodbye lmfao, i know i’m being a little dramatic. But it’s never lost on me that I’ve been able to touch my dreams because of you all!

i love you SO much. forever. thank you for being here ❤️‍🩹
